As the name suggests, we are a completely independent business network, set up by a diverse group of local businesspeople. After a few months in the planning, we officially launched on 6 January 2005 and now have 22 members.

We meet for breakfast every Thursday morning at the Falstaff Hotel in Leamington Spa to network, welcome visitors and pass on business leads and also to manage our funds to promote the group. WIN is non-profit-making and membership fees have so far gone into: development of the group identity, local radio advertising, development of a website, development of a newsletter and donation to local charity.

We are always looking for new visitors and members for our network, particularly people who see the value in supporting local businesses and becoming part of a successful sales co-operative. We also welcome occasional speakers on personal and business development issues.

TIP OF THE DAY

Most business owners are reluctant to ask for referrals. If you tell your customers/clients at the beginning of your relationship that you only ask for referrals when the client is delighted with your service, it takes the pressure off both parties. If you prompt the client to your ideal customer, you may even get a brain storming session going... Remember if you don't ask you don't get.
